Inside Pathfinder

Computer-controlled floatation environment

Safe, easy access
Push gently on the full-width sliding door. It glides open to reveal a spacious, state-of-the art floatation chamber.

·
During a float session, the door can be left partially or fully open. When closed, it forms a perfect light-seal.
·
The floor of the floatation pool is fitted with anti-slip strips.
·
Moulded armrests help the floater ease into or out of the supine floating position. Ledges allow dry face-towels to be available during the session, to wipe off any salt splashes from the face or eyes.

The floatation pool

The sparkling shallow floatation pool is only 25 cm / 10" deep. It contains a high concentration of dissolved Epsom Salt, so buoyant that anyone lying back on the surface floats naturally and effortlessly, with the face above the surface, and the body and limbs evenly supported - giving a sensation of total weightlessness.

·
The salt solution is precisely maintained at skin-temperature (34.8 Deg C / 94.6 Deg F). Research shows that accurate temperature regulation intensifies the relaxation response associated with floating. Pathfinder employs laboratory-grade platinum sensors and computerized control circuitry to regulate the temperature with an accuracy of 0.1 Deg C or F.

·
A centering system helps keep the floater in the center of the floatation pool, and minimizes contact with the walls of the floatation chamber.

·
The powerful underwater stereo sound system gives the feeling of floating in a sea of sound.

·
An adjustable ventilation system silently circulates fresh air into the chamber.

Floater controls

·
The floater is in control of the floatation experience.

·
Within easy reach on the left side are controls for the light and the video.

·
Within easy reach on the right side are controls for the sound and intercom.

Temperature

Research shows that accurate temperature regulation intensifies the relaxation response associated with floating. The floatation pool is maintained at relaxed skin temperature (34.8 Deg C or 94.6 Deg F).

Laboratory-grade platinum sensors and computerized control circuitry regulate the temperature with an accuracy of 0.1 Deg C or F. Temperature settings can be adjusted within a safe range of set-points.

Low water alarm

Floatation tanks lose water all the time due to natural evaporation, and need to be topped-up with water regularly. If the water level drops too low, this can result in damage to the heating system and pump.

As a safety measure, the floatation chamber is fitted with water sensors that display an alarm signal on the control unit, whenever the level of solution in the chamber drops below recommended levels.
